Time magazine said she was THE most beautiful lady ever to appear on screen, and I don’t oppose… At 78, she’s still active and looks more beautiful than ever
Jacqueline Bisset excels in many different ways. In her 58-year career, the 78-year-old actress has appeared in 58 films, according to her CV. My parents began to adore Jacqueline Bisset when I was a young child, and she has remained one of my role models ever since. She is one of the few actors that makes me yearn for Hollywood’s golden age. I’ve always found her gorgeous and intriguing, and she seemed to mature so quickly.
She never overdid it with makeup. The actress, who is renowned for her striking green eyes and prominent cheekbones, has played a variety of roles throughout her illustrious career, including the First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, in America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story (2003), the title role in the epic love story Anna Karenina, and the seductive Miss Goodthighs in the spy parody Casino Royale (1967). In the 1966 film Cul-de-Sac by Roman Polanski, Bisset made her acting debut.
She appeared in three critically acclaimed films the next year, in 1968, including The Sweet Ride opposite Anthony Franciosa and Bob Denver (better known as Gilligan on Gilligan’s Island), which garnered her a nomination for a Golden Globe. Along with Joan of Arc (1999), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy, she also starred in Day for Night (1973), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Deep (1977), Wild Orchid (1990), Dancing on the Edge (2013), Miss You Already (2015), and Birds of Paradise (2017).
Jacqueline Bisset, an actress who is trilingual (fluent in English, French, and Italian), won the Legion of Honor, France’s highest honor, in 2010 and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Sedona International Film Festival in 2023. Despite working with some of the sexiest men in Hollywood, Bisset has never been wed. Frank Sinatra was interested in the attractive woman, and there were allegations that she was having an affair with Steve McQueen, her Bullitt co-star. But, a sophisticated Englishwoman by the name of Bisset argued that they were too dissimilar.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, she said the following about McQueen: “He was lovely, yet a little intimidating. I was very British, but he was an urban American. As I didn’t know what a man or a soul chick was, I wouldn’t have been able to bear the way he spoke. She says she is too independent to commit to one relationship, despite having three long-term relationships with Canadian actor Michael Sarrazin, ballet dancer Alexander Godunov, and actor Vincent Pérez. In an interview with the Independent, Bisset said, “I’ve had some really interesting men in my life.”
They have been difficult. I’ve been told that I don’t pick simple men. Spending time with people can sometimes lead to an excess of knowledge acquisition, she continued. You become aware of undesirable actions. Once you become aware of them, you are forced to wed someone who has abhorrent behaviors, which I’m not sure I can tolerate. I’ve never been in a bad relationship. I haven’t yet gotten angry. I recently changed settings because they were overly demanding. Bisset rose to stardom after winning a Golden Globe for her depiction of Baroness Cremone in the BBC series Dancing on the Edge, despite the fact that she hasn’t been in the headlines for having controversial romances.
Bisset is the godmother of Angelina Jolie. After 47 nominations, she was 69 years old when she took home the prize for best newcomer. Her mostly confused acceptance speech, which demonstrated her earnest gratitude, was cut short by the music cueing her off the stage. Since then, she’s appeared in the movies Loren & Rose and The Lodger (2020), a French thriller in which she plays a sardonic femme fatale (2022). Although limited by the idea that she is “a little crazy and a bit unpredictable,” Rose is presented by Bisset as a gifted performer who is attempting to revive her career. Russell Brown, the film’s director, has said that Rose is Bisset’s complete antithesis.
According to Brown, “viewers commonly assume that Jacqueline is ‘as she is in the movie. Yet in reality, she is extremely different from Rose in terms of being a woman and an actress, and the fact that the transition seems so effortless is a testament to her talent. The everlasting beauty Bisset aged gracefully. At her infamous Golden Globes address, she stated: “I believe, if you want to appear beautiful, you’ve got to forgive everyone.” The best cosmetic operation is this one. Despite having “plenty of complexes” as a young woman, she has also claimed that she has never considered undergoing plastic surgery.
I don’t think that makes you appear younger. You become unique because of it, admitted Bisset. She is an honest, lovely, and generous woman and artist who serves as a role model for the entertainment sector. Jacqueline is obviously a typical person. She is one of my all-time favorite actors and a really smart woman.
