Alarm Goes Off Too Early at Mar-a-Lago: Ambulances Are Connected to JD Vance’s Motorcade Not Trump for president
There was a lot of speculation on the internet on Thursday, November 21, 2024, when ambulances and Secret Service cars were seen outside of President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida. First signs that Trump might be sick were seen on social media and in the work of many reporters, which caused a lot of worry. This assumption was quickly shown to be wrong, though.
Andrew Feinberg, who writes about the White House for The Independent, said that the cars were part of Vice President-elect JD Vance’s convoy. Feinberg said on X (which used to be Twitter):
“False alarm. Go about your business.”
🚨 #BREAKING: Ambulances and Secret Service vans were seen outside Mar-a-Lago. Speculation ensued, but reports confirmed they were part of JD Vance’s routine motorcade, not a Trump-related emergency.

CALM DOWN, PEOPLE.
Per a transition source and @SecretService, the ambulances were part of Vice President-elect @JDVance’s motorcade.
False alarm.
Go about your business. https://t.co/SJCiLIHnPj

Social media craze
Photos and videos from the scene showed a line of ambulances and cars leaving the Mar-a-Lago grounds. People online came up with ideas about what Trump might have thought after seeing posts like this one from @HustleBitch:
🚨 #BREAKING: Police, ambulances and vans carrying Secret Service agents have just been spotted rushing outside Mar-a-Lago.

But the Secret Service quickly shot these stories down. A spokeswoman for Anthony Guglielmi confirmed:
Response from the Trump Team: Senior Trump advisor Steven Cheung criticized how the media covered the story and said Feinberg’s comments were hurtful and made before they were time:
The press has set up a fake, unofficial “pool” because they want to feel important about themselves. In this case, some idiot at CBS overreacted and set off the fire alarm for no reason thinking they were going to get the scoop of a lifetime.
F****g dummy. https://t.co/iEuYUQ8E58

People were annoyed by how sensationalized standard security measures were being made by his direct comments. When motorcades go by, ambulances generally follow to help people right away if they need it.

It’s interesting that the event had effects that weren’t planned. The “other” group for odds on who will be sworn in as the next U.S. president went up in Polymarket, from 2% to 7%. The speed at which false information can change public opinion and even financial gambling is shown here.
Fact-Check: Exactly What Happened?
According to reports from Times Now News and USA Today, the ambulances were normal parts of JD Vance’s motorcade and had nothing to do with Trump’s health. Both sources said that during the whole thing, neither Trump nor any other Mar-a-Lago resident had any health issues.
This shows how important it is to check information twice before making decisions, especially when it comes to cases involving famous people. To put your mind at ease, President-elect Trump is still healthy and getting ready for his inauguration in January 2025.
