A mom who thought she deserved to have her kids thought that breaking her son’s iPad would stop him from going crazy. Still, the things that happened after that made her worry even more than I thought they would. Even when you’re in the air at 30,000 feet, karma still works.
My name is Bethany and I’m 35 years old. A two-hour trip could have changed my life in ways I never thought possible. Still, I was taking it easy while sitting next to my five-year-old daughter Ella. As the plane began to take off, I let out a sigh of relief. Ella had her headphones on very tight and was watching cartoons on her iPad. She was enjoying herself slowly.
“You comfy sweetie?” I pulled her hair behind her ear while I answered her question.
Ella looked at the TV in front of her and nodded. That is correct. Would it be rude of me to ask for juice later?
I smiled and said, “Absolutely,” as I looked at my book. “Just let me know when you’re thirsty.” .
I saw people moving across from me in the aisle while I opened my book. The couple and their young child, who is about Ella’s age, had just moved in. He was squirming in his seat and making a loud shriek.
“I’m bored!” he yelled. then hit him with the seat in front of him.
His mother was the one who told him to be quiet. You were told that this trip wouldn’t have any shows. Be a good kid and grow up.
The boy was staring at Ella’s iPad, and his whining got worse. This caught my eye.
I thought, “Oh boy.”The flight might last a long time.
Two hours into the conversation, someone tapped me on the shoulder, telling me to look up. The mother was sitting on the other side of the aisle and leaned in toward me with a huge smile.
Hello there! I couldn’t take my eyes off of the iPad your daughter was using. Because we are responsible parents, we have agreed that our child will not be able to use a device at all during the holiday break. That needs to be thrown away as soon as possible. This is what makes him angry.
I was really shocked by how direct she was, and I blink. “Excusing me?”
“Just… it’s not fair to him, you know?”
After taking a few deep breaths, I told myself to stay calm. “I apologize, but I cannot…” For my child, it helps her stay calm on the bus.
The woman’s happiness quickly went away. “Is it possible?” That would ruin our family trip. Would you rather keep your daughter from going off to her favorite screen?
When I started to lose it, I said, “Listen,” and she did the same. It’s possible that your son did the same thing you did.
We’re going to call the woman “Entitled Mom (EM)” because she was clearly angry.
Some parents find it hard to say no to their kids these days. It’s not a surprise that kids like to be spoiled.
I picked up my book in the hopes that this would end the talk. On the other hand, I thought her eyes were going straight through my head.
“Everything OK, Mommy?” Ella asked briefly, taking her eyes off the TV she was watching.
“My dear, there’s no cause for concern.” You should watch your cartoons again and again.
That hour was especially hard. There are worse outbursts from the boy, and his cries could be heard over the noise in the house.
He and his wife would give us mean looks every few minutes, as if we were to blame for their bad planning. That made me laugh.
The little kid yelled, “I want that!” as she pointed to Ella’s iPad. “I’d want that!” “That is not fair!”
His mom also leaned over. Yes, honey, it is true. A lot of people only think about themselves.
Focusing on the book I was reading, I clenched my teeth. The words got mixed up as I tried to ignore the chaos going on all around us. Ella was focused on her pictures and didn’t pay attention to what was going on around her.
All of a sudden, there was a noise right next to us. The spoiled mom reached for her purse while leaning across the aisle. Still, her arm hit Ella’s tray table by accident instead of grabbing her things.
Time seemed to slow down as I watched Ella’s iPad slide off the tray. The screen broke into a web of cracks as it hit the ground with a loud crunch.
The sound of Ella’s scream broke up the silence. Mom, I need my iPad!”
Title: called When Mom saw this, her face changed to show a fake surprise. I’m sorry! That wasn’t what I meant! That move is a little hard for me to do.
I did, however, see a tiny bit of happiness in her eyes. This is not at all a mistake.
Not happy, “What’s wrong with you?” I yelled.
She shrugged and didn’t try very hard to hide how proud she felt. “Events like these are unavoidable.” Does this advice mean she doesn’t need as much time in front of the screen?
I was about to say something that would have made a pirate cry when a flight attendant walked in.
As she looked at the broken iPad, she asked herself, “Is there any way this could get better?”
There was more of Mom’s act of arrogance. The speaker said, “It was just a very bad accident.” It hurts to be inside.
I was about to tell the flight attendant she was wrong when she stopped me with a concerned look.
“I am quite sorry to learn about the situation of your device, madam.” It’s too bad, because there isn’t much we can do while we’re in the air. If you need more information, please don’t be afraid to get in touch with us.
I turned to comfort my daughter as she left, even though I knew the problem wasn’t fixed yet. However, it seemed like karma had other plans.
The boy’s anger reached levels that had never been seen before because of Ella’s iPad problem. The chair in front of him was kicked when he pulled on the tray table. He got up quickly from his seat.
The spoiled mother of Sweetie kindly told her to “regain control.”
“I’m fatigued!” This trip has been the worst thing I’ve ever done!
As I watched Entitled Mom out of the corner of my eye, I felt mostly bad for the kid and a little proud of her for being persistent.
Eleanor pulled on my arm, even though her eyes were still wet. “Mommy, might you fix it?”
I gave her a tight hug. I’m so sorry, sweetheart. It will be checked when we get there. What if we take a break to read a book?
Someone was making a fuss in the hallway as I reached into my bag for one more book.
The little kid, who was acting pretty active, knocked over Entitled Mom’s coffee cup. The dark liquid fell onto her lap and into her open wallet.
She yelled in a panic to try to keep her things from being taken. “No, No, no!”
She was pulling something out of her bag when it finally fell to the ground. holy cow! It looked like a small blue leaflet. I let out a surprised breath and looked closer. In fact, it was her passport!
Before anyone could do anything, her son’s foot hit the dropped paper and sank deep into the coffee-stained carpet.
Entitled Mom looked so angry that you should have seen it. It was great!
Even though she got the passport, the damage was already done. The pages were so wet that they started to stick together in a messy pile. It was hard to tell what it was because the cover was twisted so much. It looked like a piece of toast left out in the water at first.
“Ma’ams?” Someone from the flight crew stepped forward. “Is yours your passport?”
The spoiled mom nodded, but she had a hard time saying anything.
I’m sorry to tell you this, but losing your passport could cause a lot of trouble when we get to our destination. I’m sorry for any trouble. especially since you want to go on a trip abroad.
able to do this, Mom’s face showed how worried she was. She asked her husband to help her get away. Which path do we take? Our flight from Paris to New York will leave in three hours.
Her husband just shrugged; he couldn’t help himself. “I’m unaware.” Could we maybe explain ourselves at customs?
As they argued, I couldn’t help but feel that my ideas had a little bit of evil in them.
Titled Mom was grumbling under her breath and quickly wiping her torn passport with tissues as the plane began to descend. The child had been having fits, but now he was asleep because he was so tired from what he had done.
I leaned over to sit next to Ella and looked at her with a wide-eyed gaze as she read her book. My sweetheart, you should be very proud of yourself. You are someone who loves to read!
The fear she had shown about the iPad went away as she smiled at me. “Can we make cupcakes when Mommy gets home?”
Without thinking, I stroked her hair and told her, “absolutely.” “And maybe we could also make some cookies.”
When I turned around, I heard a soft whine coming from the other side of the aisle. As she talked on the phone with her spoiled mother, her eyes got red.
Even though it’s the eleventh hour, we need to change our whole trip. At this point, we won’t be able to make it to the next trip. “because my passport has been permanently damaged.”
I could not help but hear her say that she would have to go through the steps to get an emergency passport if she wanted to keep going as she explained what happened.
As we were getting out of the cab and heading for our gate, Entitled Mom caught my eye.
For a moment, I thought that her look showed a hint of sadness. But the moment was over when her son started to whine again.
“Prepared to go, Ella?” I asked her as I helped her put her things away.
“Mommy, could we possibly have ice cream at the airport?”
“Don’t you agree we deserve a little treat?” I laughed out loud.
As my friend and I got off the plane, I couldn’t help but think about how strange things had just gone. The simple two-hour flight turned into a lesson in how travel can go wrong, how to be patient, and how karma works.
Thought up under I turned around to take one last look back while my mom was still working hard to get her lost passport back. It was a sobering lesson that sometimes the results of our actions are not what we expected, whether they are good or bad.
Ella’s iPad wasn’t the only broken thing on that trip, though. Finally, the spoiled mom lost something much more valuable.
I liked how the rainy trip gave me a new point of view. I reached for Ella’s fingers as we walked toward the baggage claim. Life’s most important lessons are sometimes taught in the worst ways.
Have you ever been in the air and seen a friend who looked like a live horror? Please write about your terrible flight experience in the box below.
I say that you are wrong in telling your parents to live in your garage because they didn’t have you live in a garage when you were younger did they.
When did you let them know, was it when they arrived at your house. If so that was so unfair. I hope your children do that to you. Karma can be a good thing.
