Mother and daughters surprise Simon Cowell with their singing chops
An amazing mother-daughters singing group unexpectedly stole the show on ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ Judges were dumbstruck and ended up giving them a standing ovation.
In this video of the globally watched BGT, the Garnett family performs a beautiful song that showcases everyone’s musical talent. The group consists out of the mother and her three daughters.
The song builds up to a climax where the mother hits the high notes like a pro. Ironically, it was the first performance for the family in front of a live audience ever.
The whole family is beautiful, but it is clear that the mother is older than the rest. It is in contrast to what you would expect from a commercial girl group. One of the judges mentioned this in his comments.
Simon Cowell, renowned for his stoic approach and critique, states: “Can I be honest with you? I’m thinking, I don’t know why you, mum, are in the group.” And then pauses; the silence is awkward.
But Simon continues and finishes his comment: “And then you hit that note, and I went, ‘Now I know why you are in the group.’” All four of their voices are angelic, to say the least, and they complement each other in an unexplainable way.
One envious fan commented online: “Can you imagine growing up singing like that? Not for business but for joy? What a lucky family of ladies!” It’s probably more hard work than luck, but the sentiment is definitely relatable.
