It was supposed to be a fun girls’ trip. My friends from work and I went to a beautiful resort, hoping to relax and enjoy ourselves. One sunny afternoon, I stood by the pool in a flowing dress, feeling carefree and happy. I decided to take a selfie to capture the moment. I borrowed my friend Lisa’s phone because mine was charging inside.

The picture came out perfect. The blue pool behind me, the green leaves framing the shot—it was like a scene from a movie. I sent the picture to my husband, thinking he would like to see me enjoying my time.

Minutes later, my phone buzzed. It was him. “Pack your things and go to your parents’ house,” he said coldly. “We’re getting a divorce.” I was shocked. My heart pounded in my chest. How could one photo cause this?

When I got home, he was already packing my bags. I begged him to tell me what was wrong, but he was too angry to speak. Finally, he shoved the phone in my face and pointed to the picture.
