Think about it. When you receive a text from a wrong number, what do you typically do? Probably respond with “sorry, you have the wrong number” or ignore the text altogether. Or maybe even have some fun and mess with the person hardcore. The possibilities are endless. One father received an accidental text from a girl named Syd that was meant to go to one of her friends regarding their opinion on some dresses she was considering for purchase. He was spending some quality time with his children and thought it would be fun to bring Syd a smile or two. “I thought, let’s try and make this young lady’s day.”
Syd Accidentally Sent Tony Pictures of Her Dress. The pictures were meant to go to one of her friends for their opinion.
He gathered the kids around the phone and had them respond to Syd with their opinions of the dresses. “I figured that the children’s’ response would accomplish that substantially better than some middle-aged overweight bald guy!” said their father, Tony. Tony and his family had no idea that this simple text exchange would do far more than just bring some simple joy to Syd’s day; it would also change their lives forever. Tony and his wife, Rachel, have a son named Kaizler who is battling Leukemia. On the day of the text conversation, Kaizler was at the chemo clinic receiving his treatment. He is battling the illness like a brave young man and doing remarkably well. Tony notes, “We still have about a little over a year worth of treatments to go. He really wanted to try going to Kindergarten, so we gave that a shot, but he was getting sick way too often and had several hospitalizations.”
The text conversation was shared on social media and ended up going viral because it was just too adorable and heartwarming. And because of the post’s popularity and the number of people, it’s been able to reach, Tony and his family have received over $3,000 in donations towards Kaizler’s treatments. “That’s more than we had donated in total over the last 2 years. It’s been amazing and is a bigger blessing than anyone could ever know. We were backed up to a financial wall. I’ve been working the entire time, but I was slowly but surely succumbing to the financial rigors of the situation.” Tony explained.
Little Did Syd Know The Picture Would Bring Forth Much More. And it’s an adorable dress, btw.
Tony Thought He and His Kids Could Throw in Their Two Cents. And bring Syd a smile or two.
The Kids Loved The Dress. And they let Syd know
One of Syd’s Friends Shared the Convo on Twitter. Not surprisingly, it went viral
The Attention the Convo Received Changed the Family’s Life Forever. Kaizler was able to receive a large number of donations from people around the world to assist with the costs of his chemo treatments.
The Family Was So Grateful. How amazing
Rachel was amazed by the outpour of generosity and support that people have shown since the post went viral, “I would also like to thank EVERYONE from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words, all the prayers, all the donations, all the love, and support. We honestly would never have been able to make it this far in our journey without every single one of you!!!”
